Pied Beauty sets Gerard Manley Hopkins' famous poem in praise of "Dappled Things" in nature and in human civilisation. It was commissioned by the Rector of Rugby. This setting was first performed at St Andrew's Parish Church, Rugby, conducted by the composer (St Andrew's Director of Music at the time) at choral evensong for Harvest Festival in 2009.
